Mini Split

I am thinking of installing mini split systems in place of central air.
No need to cool whole house.
Any thoughts on this idea and any suggestions of the best brand?
Thanks
Billy

A mini split is designed for a single room, not a house of rooms. If you install in the living room your bedroom will not be the same temp. You can purchase a compound system, where you have 1 condenser and 2 or 3 air handlers, controled by there own t-stat. But this is an install left to the pro's. Personally I love them. I installed one in my florida room last year and it works perfect. I can't even tell it's on my light bill. Mike

Fujitsu is my choice brand. they cool and heat great (heatpumps).I installed a bunch where cost of running duct work was out of the question.
