Millivolt Gas valve / powerpile

Having trouble diagnosing the problem with the Gas Valve. I replaced the power pile with a 750mV unit and it produces a 625mV signal but the pilot will not stay on. Any suggestions?

625 mV is open circuit voltage?
What does the coil resistance of the valve measure?

.4 K ohms TP and .39K ohms TH open circuit. 625 mV circuit complete

Post a pic of the gas valve and pilot burner (where the pilot light burns).

Whats up Yuri

You may need to describe what it takes to post a pic here. It's a little different than some other sites

Well, well well, long time no see from my old buds from HVACMech. Too bad the po*n spammers killed it. Glad to see you found us, wish TKG would also. There are instructions with the posting box (go advanced/scroll down to additional options/manage attachments)how to upload pics and they can post the links here from photobucket etc.

Welcome aboard, now you need to get to know some of the personalities here. After your post count gets high enough I will send you a private message.

Cheers

I would check for tripped safeties. Where are you measuring the voltage at.

Could be it was the gas valve that was bad, and not the generator.

If the 750 mV doesn't drop under load, there is no current being drawn.
If it drops to 625 mV from 750 mV when it's under load you may be drawing ~40 mA.
