Miller Mobile Home Oil Furnace
I am having a problem with my furnace. It is an older Miller furnace in a mobile home. The furnace will run fine until it reaches the desired temp. After that, it will not kick back on unless I open it up and press the reset switch. Once I do that it will kick back on and run until it reaches the correct temp again. Do I need to clean my flame sensor, or does it sound like a bigger problem. If it is the flame sensor, is this something I can do or should I call in a repairman? How do I clean the flame sensor if it is something I can do on my own? Thanks for any help.
What you are resetting is the igntion watch guard. Have the piece of equipment serviced, this needs to be done by a qualified oil furnace technician, you don't want just anybody doing this. There is a list of things that have to be done to oil furnaces on an annual basis, if this is not done it can and generally will cause lockout problems.
