massive air leak between furnance and AC coil box

Noticed last night when the furance was running, that a lot of air was escaping the system in the joint (where the two come together) between the furance and the AC coil box above it...

there was a LOT of hot air just rushing out of the crack... its about 1/8th inch of a crack... the furance is new, the coil box is old, not sure if it was set on perfectly or not but its screwed down at least on the front and side... can I just cover the seam with some foil duct tape or is there a bigger problem I should worry about?

Clear silicone looks better but foil tape is fine.

Gota love buying a almost new house (under 10yrs old) and finding all these problems the original owner never knew about... gives me some stuff to keep me busy...
