lp furnace


i have a 5 yr old lp furnace and awoke last nite to a fumy smell . i shut down the furnace and upon check 2day i found that there is traces of black soot at the stack. still strong fumes. i checked the fresh air supply to the burner and seems to be getting good air. there is a rumble when the unit ignites. ANY IDEAS

lp furnace


It would be a good idea to call a reputable service company and have that furnace inspected. A rumbling furnace, strange odors and soot could indicate a failed heat exchanger. A failed heat exchanger could lead to serious health issues with carbon monoxide.
