I own a rental property, currently vacant...I live in Minneapolis and winter is fast approaching...What is the lowest temp I can consistently set my thermostat at before I should start worrying about the water lines freezing? Thanks
Around here water freezes @ 32 deg. F. or 0 deg. C. anything above that should be fine.
My house in NC, I winterize by draining the water system and setting the thermostat at 50 deg. I have a bank of 3 100W lightbulbs in the crawlspace under the house controlled by a thermostat set at 40 deg. This has worked for 25 yrs.
The 3 bulbs are redundant, one would work but I'm not usually up there during the winter. I quit skiing years ago.
