Low air flow

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I've got an airflow problem on the second floor of my house. Here is a picture of how it gets distributed:

There are 7 vents that feed from the square duct using the soft duct stuff. I was thinking if I swapped out the soft duct for hard duct, and did something about the extra foot of duct that feeds the branches I would have better airflow.

Any thoughts? I really appriciate the help, especially since it's been about 100 degrees and humid in VA!

Switching to hard duct. Will increase it some. But may not be as much as you want.

As a test. Remove your air filter. and see if air flow increases. If not. Then try running it with the blower panel off, and see if it increases.

You may not have enough return to get good air flow.

Low air flow

beenthere - Thanks. I'll start with that, it seems a much easier test than replacing the supply lines. The only problem is if that is the problem, I'm sure fixing the returns is going to be a PITA!

Sometimes fixing the return is hard. Nut most of the time, its easier then fixing a supply.
