Loud condenser motor

i have a new condenser motor, AO Smith Fe1018sf. i just bought it and put it in and it is very loud for a new motor , and it squeaks when it runs. i removed the red drain plug and want to make sure that it was not the/an oil plug.
It doesn't sound right for a new motor.

Thanks TYDOG

Rare to have a bad/noisey motor out of the box but it does happen once in a great while. Make sure you bought the correct horse power and rpm and the capacitor is correct.

Make sure you did not bend the fan blade and it is hitting the cowling. If it is then it is damaged and unbalanced and you need a new one.

Made sure it is not touching anything, i want to know if the red plug was a drain or a oil port cover?

Probably a drain plug. Very few motors have oil plugs these days. Most people cannot access them. Is it turning in the right direction, sucking air in the sides and shooting out the top?
