Line voltage thermostat BLEW UP
Hi,
I've got a line voltage (240V or 208V, I don't remember which) thermostat controlling an in-wall electric fan-driven heater that just blew up (the thermostat, not the heater!), leaving black streaks on the wall. It's worked fine for several years. Any thoughts on what might be going on? I put this thermostat in myself a few years ago and it's definitely line voltage, 240V and an appropriate power rating (again, I don't remember the wattage, but I know I did check this) and worked fine until this incident. Before running out and just putting in a new thermostat, I'd like to get some opinions on this one. Thermostats are inexpensive, but condos aren't! Thanks in advance, Cupajoe |

Yea sounds like a bad heater
You will have to troubleshoot your heater before installing a new thermostat. You need a volt ohm amp meter to to do this. |
