Line length & Air handler dimensions

For a two ton split system, is there a maximum or practical length for the lines between the units? One story house in FL, AH in attic and condenser outside on slab.
I want to install an AH horizontally in my attic with very limited space. Do any brands have a smaller air handler? Width and depth would be important numbers. Is there anywhere to look this info up?

You really need to get the installation manual to get this information. Manufacturer's can allow runs up to 150' but there are often special requirements for the diamter of the liquid and suction lines.

Vertical runs can also affect this.
