LG Mini split LA090HSV2 fan runs all the time
 
I have a LG Art Cool Mirror 1 ton. I just turned it on for the season. The fan never stops running I notice but the compressor does.

This was installed last year to cool a large upstairs room. The room has 2 AC vents from the Central Unit but in Texas during summer the upstairs needs help. It's a pretty big room. I don't mind the fan running per se' because the LG unit is on the opposite end of the the room from the vents and the stairwell. So it pulls air across the room when cold air from the vents would tend to just drop down the stairwell.

Still... is it supposed to opperate that way? The manual for these units are not very good. Or is the fan supposed to turn off when the compressor does like my central unit does.

This compressor has the inverter technology which I think means the compressor operates at multi speeds. Maybe the running fan is part of that?

Check the fan setting on the control that sets the temperature. You should have options for the fan that I am guessing somehow got set to ON instead of AUTO.

The remote has a fan button. It seems just to adjust the speed. It has a mode button. The only thing under Auto is this:

Auto operation
(Artificial intelligence)
In this mode, the fan speed and the temperature
adjust automatically, based on the room
temperature.
1 Press "ON/OFF" turn on the power.
2 Press "mode" repeatedly to select auto operation.
3 Press "up" or "down" to select the desired operation
code if the temperature is higher or
lower than the desired temperature.

NOTE
In this mode, you cannot adjust the fan
speed, but you can set the air deflector
to rotate automatically.
This function may not be supported, depending
on the model.


In my case it seems to be supported as I can see the AI icon.
