Lennox TUE080A948L3 - NO HEAT

The unit was working fine until this morning. The blower comes on to clear the flu and start a draft. Then the ligniter comes on and stays lit for about 15 seconds but the unit never lights the burners. The blower comes on an runs until I lower the thermostat below the current 59 degree temperature. The gas fire logs which run off the same gas line work fine. I turned off the power to unit for 15 / 20 minutes hoping there may be a reset. After reapplying power no change.

Well, to me without being there to check it with my VOM meter,I would say that its a bad gas control valve. My reasoning is that everything else is happening that should happen, the gas valve is not opening to let gas flow to ignitor and burners. Just one other thing, I have worked with Lennox products for over 30 years.....I dont recall them makeing a unit that has a TUE******* model number, sounds like a Trane to me.

You are exactly correct. My error - it is a Trane. This last time it cycled I tapped lightly on the gas valve and the unit came on. Any idea where I could find a Gemini Gas Valve #4033RG51G? I am in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I called a Trane dealer early this morning and they have not responded. Thanks so very much.

if the valve is a standard 24V 2 wires and the pilot gas fed off it...check Grainger locally TRANE uses different brands on all their controls....and it changes year to year... put up a pix of the valve and model number off the valve.that tapping of the valve and it opens to heat could be a loose wire under the hat...shut the gas and unsrcew the top of the valve so you see the wire connection within.if you have a ohm meter shut 115V service switch OFF...connect it to the 2-24V spades on top of the valve and see if you get a bouncing on the meter as you move the wires...a loose soldered connection or pinched wire.... http://www.bestbuyheatingandaircondi..._Code=gv-trane
