I can't get my ac unit to turn on. I had to do some wire repair at the condensor. Mice chewed the wires. Now I put new terminal lugs on and hooked them back. There is a yellow, red and black wires. Can you connect these up wrong to the terminal post on the condensor? I have looked for a wiring diagram but no luck. I will also check the rest of the wiring.
Thanks for the wiring diagram. I found a wire disconnected on the compressor contactor. Repaired that and then turned on the unit. It ran briefly then shutoff. I then changed the compressor wires to have the 2 hot leads on the 2 top posts and the yellow ( Fan ) lead to the bottom post. I went to turn on the unit and no power. The central fan for the furnance/ac would not run either. It had been running prior to my contactor repair. Now I went out and pressed in the reset contactors the ac unit runs, but when you release them the unit stops.Somehow the thermostat circuit has quit working. There is 3 terminals on the dual capacitor. Each terminal has 3 posts. Does it make a difference as to which post you plug the wires into ?
