Question

Lennox / Honeywell Heat Pump Cycling Often

Hi: I have a 5 year old Lennox Heat Pump, 2 stage compressor with 2 stage aux electric heat and a lennox/honeywell thermostat. Ever since it was installed I have noticed mostly in colder weather it cycles constantly. Often it will run for a few minutes, stop for a minute or less and then cycle back on. The installer says all is correct. I just set thermostat settings 260 and 270 to 6 from the default of 9 after seeing other posts here. Any other ideas what may be happening?

Set your compressor CPH to 3, and your aux heat CPH to 3.

Why is the default cph for heat pump 3 and aux 9? I changed the aux cph to 6 and the difference was quite noticeable. The heat pump is running longer, but still seems to stop, wait about 30 seconds and start again. All the time it is set on 66 and always says 66. Should I also change the more or less aggressive setting? It is at the default. Thanks!

No, aggressive only effects recovery from set back.

Supposedly, 9 CPH is efficient for electric aux heat.

I never set aux higher then 3.
