Lennox G20E Gas Furnace Down; What next?

After 1 yr and 10 months of excellent service, the Lennox/Honeywell 30W3301 ICM stopped working last night. The Green LED is flashing six times which indicates internal error in ICM. I have tried to power-cycle the furnace a few times but no luck so far. I guess I have to buy a new one again. This is no fun. Do any of you have an alternate advice?

Buy a new furnace unless you like fixing this one and spending $$ on it. Lots of parts to go wrong. Gas valve, damper door motor and switch, BCC board, pilot burner, fan motor plus the new control. Good quiet furnace but at 20 yrs old going to need to keep spending to keep it going. Heat exchanger may be cracked and you need to be an experienced Lennox tech to know where to look.

MAX no difference 2 me. It's just TOO much fun too keep fixing. I make a fortune on fixing them but it is the furnace I love too hate. Had to invent a special wrench to get the da*mn pilot burner gas line off. Not bad if you do one a year. Try do 1 a day and see how funny you think it is.

Lennox made a fortune on them as it was totally quiet while the other mid efficiency furnaces were noisy with a ventor fan. Very clever and salesmen had a very easy sell for that reason.

If I were to go for a new furnace, any particular brand/model to recommend? Any brand/model to stay away from?

they are all good but the contractor who installs it may not be. poor install will shorten it's life. check with your neighbors and friends and see who has done good work 4 them. Rheem/Ruud makes good basic furnaces IMO and their circuit boards last a LONG time.
