Lennox 80UHG will not stay lit

First thing in the morning, first time the furnace lights, all is normal. Once the house hits the desired temperature the furnace shuts off. So far, so good.

At that point the furnace will not fully relight.

The 'preignition' phase goes OK, the small blower fan starts, the burners light, run for a few seconds (varying from 5 - 30 or so) and then shut off. It will cycle through this a few times and then stop trying. Flipping the thermostat to 'OFF' and back on causes the same thing to happen again.

I've done some reading, checked the 'vacuum hose' from the small blower fan to the 'pressure sensor', no moisture at all and it works as it should if I suck on the hose end.

The two green lights on the control panel both flash repeatedly. In my reading I've seen mention of 'limit switches' which may need resetting (unless they're automatic). I've looked, I'll be darned if I can find these rascals. A description would be helpful.

You might want to do a search for this, I know there have been several posts with similar issues.

Yes, there are similar threads, but with different hardware. I don't want to hijack someone else's question with my own.

It sounds like the flame sensor. A metal rod about a 1/8" in diameter. Sets in front of the burner. Take some emory cloth or fine sand paper and clean the rod. Remove the oxidation. Should take care of the problem

I had the same problem. I cleaned the flame sensor and it is working like a charm. Who knew??? I pray it continues to work. Thank you for the suggestion. You are a life saver. I will sleep warm tonight!
