Leaking Hot water baseboard heater

Two 6' baseboard heaters (25 years old) have developed cracks where the 1/2 inch copper supply meets the (appox.) 3/4 inch finned heat tube. Had to hacksaw through the end of the heat tubes so I'm left with a 1/2 in. copper tube which won't mate with the (more or less) 3/4 in. finned heat tube. (3/4 to 1/2 reducer won't work.)

Is there a copper, plastic, Sharkbite or other connecter which could solve this problem? Or maybe some technique I'm not aware of? I have average skills with a propane torch.

I'd hate to pull them both out and replace them before exploring the alternatives.

Thanks in advance for any help.
