Leaking air from lennox handler/furnace

After checking my ductwork for leaks this weekend, I found warm air blowing from the two openings around the two separate lines seen in the photo. One is about 1" or 1.5" in diameter with black wrap around it, and the other sits below the first by about a foot and is copper...much smaller in size.....what they are, i have no idea, but i can feel air blowing from the cut outs around them on the unit.....Can i patch these holes or are they supposed to be blowing air?

Those are your freon lines to the A/C. You can patch thrm. Go to HDepot and buy a roll of tinfoil type duct tape and use that. Regular stuff falls off after a year. Or seal them with silicone.
