kerosene tank

i have a 275 gal. kerosene tank and a monitor heater that has a pod tank (removeable tank). i need to know if i can use a pvc on/off valve instead of a metal valve to fill my pods?

depends on what kind of plastic it is. I wouldn't risk it.

Ayuh,......

While Plastics have come Along ways,.....
I don't think I want 275gal.s of fuel oil sitting just behind a Plastic Valve waiting for an Issue to come Gushing out, either,......

For the mere pocket change in price difference,......
I'd buy a quality Brass Valve.......

Brass is the key, as in globe or gate. Ball valves have plastic seats and need to be rated for petroleum products as well.
