Jenn-Air downdraft cook top

Hello, I'm installing a Jenn-Air downdraft cooktop as per instructions, problem is, I live in one of the colder regions of Canada and I'm really not sure how to install the outside vent and ducting for the extreme cold.
Trying to find an outside vent (not the cheap plastic ones) that will close with a good seal, haven't had good luck with the plastic vent sealing tightly, at least on the dryer.
I heard of other people installing the cooktops and having frost work its way back to the blower motor.
Any takers of this.

Best regards
J willis

Can't help you find one but we have a metal vent with a spring-loaded flap that seals tightly shut even in winter but still, the floor gets awfully cold around the vent.

Jen-Aire has there own cap that they want you to use. Ask the people where you bought it. It is plastic if I remember correctly but is spring loaded with a seal.

I installed a Jenn-aire in my kitchen about 12 years ago, I used their vent cap, there's no backdraft at all, even in a stiff wind.

It gets down to about 10F around here, and the wind can get up to 60 MPH regularly.

The dryer vent.......well, it's a bit more drafty.
