Post a pic of the reset button, is it the one on the chimney pipe. Remove the pipe at the furnace and check for a dead bird in there, Yes it happens. Probably the heat exchanger is cracked and you need a Pro to check it and one who is familiear with Goodmans.

Iam with yuri. If that is trip time to call the pro. I thinking what you are talking about is call Roll out switch. That is when flames are rolling out of the furnace .

there are 3 reset buttons. one is at the top of the burners and one on each side of the burners. we have to turn the switch to the furnace off then press all three reset buttons to get the furnace to kick back on.

Those are flame rollout buttons and you have an EXTREMELY dangerous situation. Check for the dead bird and if that is not it then you need a Pro ASAP before you get CO spilling and a fire/wires will melt and short soon!!

The intense heat from the flames is spilling out and tripping the switches, and possibly producing CO. With a cracked heat exchanger the air pressure from the main fan goes thru the crack into the heat exchanger fire area, pressurizes it and starts to force the flame out. Gets a lot worse in a hurry. Those heat exchangers have had LOTS of failures. Sorry.

I bet you it is rolling. Like yuri goodman is good of having back heat exchanger. I think after it 10 years old they start to crack.

Probably a few popped crimp rings.
You may not see the flame rolling out if the crimp rings left loose recently. But, the blower is causing heat from the flames not to be pulled into the heat exchanger the way they should be. This is your early warning sign. The furnace is a hazard to use.

One of the possible causes of this. is that the furnace is oversized. And the duct work is undersized for the furnace.

How big is your house. And what BTU is your furnace, and what efficiency.
