Insulating refrigerant gas line all the way to the compressor
2 Attachment(s)
I have the cooling fan off of my A/C compressor unit and while I have access to the inside of the unit, I was wondering if there is any benefit or harm in extending the pipe insulation on the refrigerant gas line all the way to the compressor itself (see photos)
I plan on replacing the insulation & tape leading up to the unit and thought I would just extend it inside the unit to the compressor |

I insulated the suction line all the way to the compressor. It won't hurt. |
Thanks for the quick reply.
I thought I was being obsessive for considering insulation on the inside pipe - glad to see I'm not the only one. |
Won't hurt. But little to no benefit.
