insulating existing walls on concrete bldg

I live in a concrete condo and the front of our building stays very very hot. Other people in these units have replaced their ac units but it still is hot in the front of the bldg. I think if we insulate the front walls with some sort of spray foam...behind the drywall by drilling and filling in behind the drywall or even placing foam boards over the drywall to add extra insulation in the front rooms. Any suggestions??

Cut a piece of drywall out and see what's in the wall for insulation. For sure no foam board over the drywall since that's a major fire hazard.

Ditto. you got to be careful what type of insulation you use or how you tear into walls. there are codes for fire separation between condos which you cannot alter by opening up walls and ceilings and using materials that do not give off toxic gases in a fire and harm other condo residents who may then sue you. may want to talk to your local bldg inspector/codes dept.
