insulated ducting necessary?

I'm installing a fan in the attic to vent different rooms the inside the house. The ducting will run from ceiling boots in the rooms to an exhaust on the side of the house.

I've heard condensation can form inside the ducts in cold weather. Since I will be running the fan mostly on hot days, is insulated ducting really necessary in the attic?

That is very true..here in the northern climes we use in floor supply systems.

We also have numerous boilers. Th AC in these homes is ducted thru the ceiling. The diffusers are a major heat loss path creating cold drafts.

I might add this is ranch style homes that have this problem.

Larger homes use what are called high pressure systems that don't incur the above problem.
