I'm installing a fan in the attic to vent different rooms the inside the house. The ducting will run from ceiling boots in the rooms to an exhaust on the side of the house.
I've heard condensation can form inside the ducts in cold weather. Since I will be running the fan mostly on hot days, is insulated ducting really necessary in the attic?
Yes it is. You won't be able to seal those vents off 100% in the winter. Cold will drop down and the heat will rise. Wont take long before the drywall around the vents is stained and the grills start to rust due to condensation.
