So I've been trying to install a new programmable thermostat, but I'm having a heck of a time deciphering how the wires should be hooked up, and not one of the 5 wiring examples in the instructions seem to be for my situation, so I'm hoping someone here can provide some helpful input. I'm trying to replace a simple Honeywell thermostat with a LUX TX-500E on what I understand to be a 5-wire heat pump system (Goodman CPLE60-1C). I've tried a few different seemingly logical setups, none of which have worked, and I'm hard pressed to find any specs on this heat pump that can give me any guidance. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
there must be a jumper between Y and W same as on the old thermostat. Otherwise, the wires go to the same labeled terminals they came off of on the old thermostat. There should also be a jumper between Rc and Rh. C gets taped off and not used
IT IS WHAT IT IS
