installing heating unit for a flat roof house

Hello,

I have been living in a 1964 house and only source of heat is from 2 wood burning stoves. The owners told me that there is radiant ceiling heat which does not work...
I want to install forced air heating or heating of any other source any suggestions.....

If it's electric radiant, call your electric provider, or your fav. electrician.

if you are only looking to put heat in and not a/c id save my money and buy some of those electric heaters that look like radiators you can buy three for less than 100 dollars and use them on the medium setting and only heat the rooms you are using youre probably looking at 7 to 10 grand for ductwork and a furnace ( if money is no object than of course go for it)

Lot of areas in Cal have electric rates of 17 cents a KWH.
Electric heat, can be expensive.

They make repair kits for ceiling radiant heat systems.
The repairs could be expensive, depending on how many reaks there are.
And sometimes, the owners, cut eh cables when they install new lights in the ceilings.

OP.
You might want to consider a pellet or corn stove.
They have a hopper you load the pellets or corn into. So it doesn't need to be watched like a wood stove.
