I am wanting to install a furnace humidifier unit.
Most units at local building supply store look fairly simple to install,
however the air intact/outlets on my furnace are fiberglass and not
sheet metal. Of course, all of the installation instructions i have looked
at show the sheet metal installation and not fiberglass so, here is the
question of the day: can these humidifier units be installed on the fiberglass
inlet/outlets and, if so, is there anything extra that should be done for reinforcing said unit
Aprilaire units(turning wheel with the round absorber plates) mount on the discharge duct just down from the furnace and hold about a gallon of water at 8lbs + the unit.you could support the opening that the humidifier will slide into from the ceiling with 2" bands of sheet metal shaped around the 3 sides of the duct and secured into the ceiling.if the duct runs along a wall a shelf built out to hold the humidifier might work http://www.aprilaire.com/index.php?z...3345v7977d7jf5
