Install Filter Rack at Return Air


I am selling my house and the buyer has requested for me to have a filter rack installed. How much should i budget for materials and installation?

Usually a one to 1 1/2 hour job with pretty cheap materials. You need to be more carefull with a filter access cover on low & mid efficiency furnaces to prevent causing a local low pressure area near the furnace.

it is a newer furnace around 93% efficiency.
Do you have an estimate on cost based on your experience?

Install Filter Rack at Return Air


For an idea, here is a typical pre-made filter rack. If you get the right one you can disconnect the existing return duct and put this in betwen it and the furnace. Tape it up and you're done...
