Question

Infinty 19 Hybrid System-Furnace lockout

My hybrid Carrier Infinty 19 system HP and gas furnace is controlled by Infinity Control Thermostat. The HP lockout is set at less than 35 degrees and the furnace (auxilary) at more than 50. This morning the sysetm was recovering from 63 to 69 degrees, The outdoor temp was 34. The furnace ran and continued to run even when the outdoor temp reached 43 degrees. The targeted temp of 69 had been reached. The furnace finally shut off. The HP did not kick in. I tested the HP and it ran properly. I thought the HP would begin to run above the less than 35 HP lockout temp? Can anyone help me?

Last I knew. The furnace runs until the heat call is over. Even if the outdoor temp rises above lockout during the heat call.

Thanks for the reply. I kind off thought that was the case but the dealer that installed the system did not fully understand. Carrier operational manuals and dealers need to do a better job of explaining these systems so users can understand these functions. Thanks again.

Training from most brands is variable by the trainers own understanding or lack of.
