Induction blower seal

Greetings!

I just replaced the induction blower on my Trane x80 furnace. The seal between the former blower and the furnace was a very fibrous gasket that essentially disintegrated when I took it out.

I replaced the blower with a Fasco A143, but it didn't come with a gasket or seal. I've seen suggestions of using a bead of silicone around the blower...

How essential is this gasket? Is this something that needs to be fixed ASAP, or can I put it off until the weekend?

Are there any suggestions as to what type of gasket or silicone to use to seal the blower?

Use High temp RTV (like what you would use on a automotive valve cover back in the day) and DO IT TODAY! a 1/2 in bead will be fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do they have the high temperature stuff at Home Depot/Lowes?

an autoparts store will have high temp rtv as well, like an autozone or napa.
