Indoor fan relay was bad my compressor got fried why did this happen?


why would my evap fan relay damage my compressor if the relay is bad.

Indoor fan relay was bad my compressor got fried why did this happen?


Relay did not turn on fan, coil got too cold and liquid refrigerant travelled thru the coil back to the compressor and damaged the valves, washed out the oil and fried it. Liquid refrigerant must be boiled/vaporized in the evap by the heat flowing across it from the air/heat supplied by the fan.

Yep, its a vapor compressor. It doesn't do well when liquid comes back to it.
