In the pictures it looks as if the spark electrode is broken off at the base.

If I disconnect the wire from #5 terminal on gas valve and wire it into the green wire coming from the pilot, it works as it should. My whole problem is that pressure switch in the gas valve is stuck closed. Could the gas pressure regulator need adjusted on the valve?

I need to step out for awhile, I'll check back tonight.

Thanks for the help!

I just made that statement about switching the wire to show you guys that the pilot and ignitor themselves are functioning properly. I haven't and don't plan on altering the factory wiring. Actually, i did that test because someone else suggested it on another forum. I realize that pressure switch is there for a reason, just have to figure out why it's not working.

Problem isn't with valve or pilot.

You got a board problem. or your board isn't grounded right.

Will gas valve is set at 3.5 for Nat. from fatory. Besides if the out door temp is lower then 20 degs and every body on your street is running their furnace off that main gas line from the street you will have even lower pressures but not engough for that to happenn. It kind of hard to help you out now unless you now how to read a volt metter. Becasue then you can find out if 24 volts is droping at pilot or gas valve pressure switch is closed.

I know how to use a multi-meter. I'm a millwright/maintenance guy where I work. I've already stated that I have 24v (actually 27v) at the #5 terminal, and that is the same at #4.

I'll have to work at it some more tomorrow. I'll try to check the grounds and all.

Hey Tator1076. You wouldn't happen to be "dantheacman" would you? Just figured I'd ask because I bought the valve from a guy in Dayton.

Yes, its not the pilot or the valve. Doubt its the board. Most likely bad ground at the board. The flame is not rectifying the board. You gota go from there.
