Ignitor lights, can hear gas, furnace doesn't light

I have a Goodman GMT070 gas furnace with an electronic igniter. It stopped lighting and I noticed the igniter was not glowing, so I replaced the igniter with a Honeywell universal igniter from Home Depot. Now, the blower comes on, the igniter lights up, the gas valve clicks once, and I can hear the gas jet for about 4 seconds, but the furnace doesn't light. The control board repeats this sequence 3 times before giving up and going into a wait period.

I don't smell any gas, so I'm suspecting the gas control valve. The switch on the valve is in the "on" position.

Thanks,

the igniter is either shorter than the OEM one or not in the exact position in the jet stream to lite the gas.

That was it! I had previously tried moving it side to side to get it in the jet. I needed to use the angle bracket that came with the Honeywell replacement igniter to lower it about an inch.

thanks

yer welcome. now remove and clean the flame sensor that sits in front of the other burner with #800 emery cloth or fine clean steel wool. looks like this.
