ignitor glows, no flame


Hello , have a tech 4 true blue 90 furnance. When calling for heat blower motor starts then ignitor glows, do not here any clicks, no flame. Will cycle again and same thing. Checked vent , its clear. The green light is a constant glow no flashing. Ideas??? Its cold here in Michigan. Thanks boweb6

ignitor glows, no flame


Sounds like a bad gas valve, the tech 4 furnace has a honeywell smart valve on it. these valves are famous for going out.

Try wiggling the wires going into the gas valve. Sometimes you can get that smartvalve to work for a little while that way. Replace it ASAP. Get all the numbers off of the label on the valve because there's several of them and they are not interchangeable.

ok thank you very much. I am north west ohio also. How does one check for a bad gas valve??? WHEN I TURN THE SWITCH OFF AND ON I HERE A CLICKING SOUND. IS THIS USUAL? THANKS
