Ideal boiler 1-6 dial on front panel

Hi,

We have an Ideal boiler that must be about 12 years old. All it has is a 1-6 dial on the front which is set to 2.5. I was wondering what this does? As our central heaters never seem to feel like they get hot enough or stay hot for long, we normally set the living room themostat to 20 degrees C.

Should 2.5 be set higher?

Also we have one of these http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TLGD1550.html it sits in our cupboard where our immersion heater is.

On it it says there are 3 settings 40, 60, 95 and our's is set to 60, what does this mean, if I turn it up will our shower be more powerful oris it it just the pump for the central heating?

Looks like a circ for the domestic hot water recirc loop. The settings just control flow through the recirc loop. Not out of your faucets.

Don't know about your boiler. Try setting it to 3, and see if the heat emitter get hotter.
