I think I did something wrong...
There's a baseboard hot water radiator in my son's room, and yesterday it was completely cold. I remembered you were supposed to open up the valves and let all the stuff out that might be clogging the line. So I got a screwdriver and opened them: these are screws at the top of the baseboard, not valves on the side. First some air came out and then a ALOT of cold water.
Actually I thought I was supposed to let all the water out. Now the radiators are still cold and I'm getting a funny feeling I shouldn't have let all that water out. If I let all the water out, can I pour some back in through the little vent again? Thanks. |

There should be a pressure gauge on your boiler. You need to check if your system is pressurized. You should have between 12and 25 lbs of pressure on the gauge. This gauge also indicates the boiler water temperature. If the system has no pressure your pressure reducing valve is probably plugged or stuck. If it has pressure you might have a circulating pump or an ignition problem. If the boiler is firing the water temp should 140 to 180 degrees.
Hope this helps. |

Thank you all
![]() This doesn't sound so serious. I was reading stuff off Google until I was actually worried I was going to blow up my house. Is that really true about the funnel? Heh. Ron, I can type fine. DIY Home Improvement is a different story. |
