Question

I bought a house


i bought a house and notice that in the winter the family room gets cold the wall where the fireplace is cold on the other side of that wall is attic space from my garage look in there by the way the fireplce is a zero clearance one.and can see the back of the fireplace and has a wrap around the sheet metal thats it. should there be insulation through out the whole attic space ??

The attic is not supposed to be insulated throughout.

Choice of:

1. INsulate hthe attic floor with attic ventilated to the outside,

2. Insulate the rafters and sidewalls as if to make the attic into living space.

Stop wasting time re-adjusting the pattern. Have several lawn sprinklers, one for each pattern.
