Hyronic furnace & Tankless hot water heater combo?

Does anyone have one of these? Or has anyone installed one? I am looking to upgrade my traditional furnace and hot water heater for the sake of space and redoing my basement. I will also pick up a huge corner upstairs where the furnace and hot water heater vent goes through the master bedroom.

Thanks for any insight.

Graham

Do you mean a boiler with a tankless coil? They are not very efficient.

I was reading about a coil that is fed by a tankless hot water heater. It is supposed to be very efficient. I am not extremely versed on heating systems, just trying to learn about what is new and what I might eventually use for my house.

Ah, hydronic coil in n air handler. They work ok. Water heater has to be sized to handle the heat load and hot water load.

I had a house fire in 2008, The fire was cause by a malfunctioning hot water tank (thats what the insurance company deemed). When my house was rebuilt i opted for a Rannai tankless hot water tank, many people tried to talk me out of that decision, But I stood my ground. And now over three years past the date of the fire I have not regretted that decision once.My gas usage is 50% less then pre-fire.The only draw back is it takes about 10 to 20 seconds longer to get hot water to my 2 nd story faucets......thats it. I love my Rannai !
