HVAC Help. Fuse blowing

I have a fridgidaire FG6RC 080c-16B gas furnace and had it installed about 8 years ago. Last winter it shut off on me and I opened the panel and noticed the little 3 am fuse on the board was blown. I had someone come out and look at it. They diagnosed it as a bad themostat and connected a new one. About a month ago the same thing happened. I looked at the board and there was a bad 5amp fuse in the spot that says....Max fuse amp 3. So the guy must have put a 5 amp fuse in and its still blowing them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check all your thermostat wiring inside the furnace and from the furnace to the thermostat for bare spots or damage. Had a cat chew thru one once. Rodents too.

I just notice the green wire towards the sheathing is exposed. I'm not how this got this way (probably when originally stripped). However, these shouldn't be touching the panel so I don't think this tripped it.
