Question

HVAC fan not working in AUTO

I was getting the furnace ready for winter and while testing the fan I engaged the fan control at the unit itself, pushing it in for manual operation, then pulling back out for auto. Now, back at the thermostat inside the house, the fan only runs in manual, not auto mode. Any ideas?

So when the thermostat calls for heat. The fan won't run?

When you switch from manual to auto, is there a call for heat indicated on the thermostat?

If not, try goosing the stat up a few degrees.

Did I just not type it correctly, YES, when I turn on the heat and the fan is set to auto the heat turns on BUT NOT THE FAN. I now have to MANUALLY turn on the fan.

What you were talking about was confusing for me at least. If it wasn't. I wouldn't have ask for clarification.

Check that no wires are pinching the dial inside the fan control. if not, then its probably done for. And needs replaced.

The temp probe that senses the heat from the heat exchanger.

When you remove yours, you can measure it.

I get all my parts from HVAC supply houses. Have no real idea what Lowes or HD have.
