Hvac elbow not connected

Have a cold spot on hallway floor ( oak hardwood). Also have poor air flow from the vent.

Put a camera in the vent about 12ft to the bend and quite visible there is no connection. I have no problem getting to this area. Whats the best way to reconnect?

If thats even a viable option. Picture is inverted.

Looks like an adjustable elbow snapped off where it connects.
Need a picture below the floor to be sure.

Better off just replacing that ell. may also find that the pipe is a tad short, may need to add a piece to keep it from happening again.
