hVAC Condensor

I am about to purchase a condo and had a Home Inspection done a couple of days ago. The inspector stated that the condensor was on top of the roof and could not inpsect it. The Unit itself is inside he said it was a central 1 zone, forced air split system. The condominium unit was built in 1983, he said the system was old. What do I do to see how much longer it might last. He said it would cost $1000's to intall a new one.

typically you would get a hvac company to come out to inspect system for you to be sure of a good working system.

Don't be shocked if it's a little more than a $1000 to replace if the condensor's on the roof.
