Question

hvac


i have a goodman gmp 100-3 furnace and it shuts itself off and all i have to do is turn off power swithh and turn on and the furnace starts. it sounds like a limit or auto resetabale safty switch ???????.the furnace usually doesnt turn on in morning when the programable thermostst turns it on. I must go down and turn power on and off

Does it's control board have an led and are there any fault codes present?? On some lower end stuff you purge the faults when you cycle power...no permanent memory storage & recall.

GMP, it probably has a cracked heat exchanger.

this is a furnace not a heast pump. it has a seperate evaporator for ac. the priblem only happens with heat

hard to say since when i remove lower cover of furnace to control board the door switch shuts off power and then it is already reset when switch is depressed thanks

put a piece of ducttape on the door switch so it stays closed when you open the door.

Most GMPs have a cracked heat exchanger.

i found that the lower led lights are blinking 3 times .what does that mean also I shut heat off by thermostal last night and it should have turned on by thermostat at 7AM and when I checked at 8 the unit was off and the led was blinking 3 times. any hints appreciated

shut unit off by thermost last night and it should have turned on automatically this morning at 7AM but when I looked at 8 it was not on and the led on lower unit control board was blinking 3 times
any hints thanks

look on the back of one of the doors or by the wiring diagram for a list of codes

Google "GMP100-3 Installation and wiring" it's pretty easy to find their lit on the web.

And listen to what the pros on here are telling you about experience with cracked heat exchanger on this model, they would know...
