Question Humidifier help

I installed a new drum humidifier on my furnace about 2 months ago.I can't get the humidity above 25%.It used to have a different type (aprilaire)and was connected to the furnace mother board but after having that replaced , the wiring wasn't reconnected because my old humidifier didn't work, how do I connect humidifier to only run when furnace runs? How can I get the humidity up in my house?

If it uses 24 volts then hook it up to the W and C terminals on the motherboard. Make sure the bypass damper is open and the pan full of water and sponge clean.

Make sure you do not have a thermostat with a heat anticipator if connecting W and C. The added load wii make the furnace cycle wacky. Digital stats are ok.
