I have a furnace made for Johnstone supply I believ by Consolidated Supplies, model # MBA 060 NH3R. The HSI is reading 5.1 Ohms, is this normal? I am used to seeing double digit readings, usually upwards of 50 Ohms and more. Thanks for the help.
The continuity will vary due to a great many factors. If it HAS continuity, does not appear fatigued, and has full rated voltage delivered to the cuircuit-it will function. This does not necessarily mean it will light the furnace.
I was just doing a maintenance on my furnace and the HSI was reading 5.1 Ohms. I'm not having a problem with the furnace, I was just wondering if 5 ohms was a low measurement or not. Thanks for the insight. It is a small ignitor like the one pictured Kyle, but it doesn't screw in anywhere, it is held in with a clip along with the flame sensor.
