How to Wire a Condenser Fan Motor

Have an old Amana unit and need to replace the Condenser Fan Motor. The old motor has 3 wires, two black ones and a brown one. The new motor has 4 wires, a brown and a brown and white with connectors on them, a black and a yellow. I assume the two with the connectors go to the capicator, but does it matter where they plug in, and what do I do with the other wires. Any help will be appreciated since it is 95 here and I have no A/C. Pictures would be great help too.

Brown and a Brown/White goes to capacitor. Black and a Yellow goes to where black and black wires was connected.

How to Wire a Condenser Fan Motor

If your reusing the old capacitor. then the brown wire goes to the cap where the old motor did, the yellow goes to where one of the old blacks did, and the black to the opposite blacks connection. The brown with white stripe is then taped off. If the motor runs backwards, reverse the yellow and black.

If installing a new run cap for the fan only, then the 2 browns go to the cap.

Appreciate your help, and this does make sense. Understand the brown and brown and white, but do we tie the black and yellow wires together and connect them where the original black one goes? Thanks again.

No, that won't work.

If you look at the old capacitor. You'll see a wire on the common terminal from the contactor. The yellow would go there, and the black would go to where the old black was.
