Serial numbers will typically tell you. numbers 3 & 4 of the serial are the year. Example : 5891G.... Unit built in 1991

This is a model # then- any idea when built? Lennox tag does not have serial # on it.

the -50W makes me wonder if you're looking at an evap coil. Nothing on the Lennox data site matches those numbers.

How old is this heater.

It was on a metal rectangle tag. With Lennox gas heating equipment on it. Top and bottom is teal with a drawing of a man/boy that looks like it comes from the late 40's/50's. It was at the bottom of the heater and has on it "TO LIGHT THE APPLIANCE" & "TO TURN OFF THE APPLIANCE" ON IT. I'll look some more. Mainly just curious. House is from 1925. I have to replace it. Heat exchanger has a crack. Heater guy says it could start leaking carbon monoxide into the house. Not a tight house but don't want to take any chances. Thanks for info.

Pilot, yea that thing is pretty old. more than 20 years for sure. could be 30-40. If there is a crack, don't run that thing. replace it.
