How much for a new furnace?

I have a 1500 sq ft home with central air and forced air heat. My home is 20 years old and I have hated the heat since I bought it! My heat seems to run quite frequently and doesn't seem to blow that warm. Any idea on how much is replacement unit would cost?

Please read forum rules.

Due to the wide regional difference in pricing across N. America, pricing is not allowed.

Considering the expense, I'd have it looked at first. It could be something as simple as a duct that fell off in a crawl space because of sloppy install. (exactly what happened to me) The HVAC guys here are usually pretty helpful and may have more ideas.

There is no rule against it, but it's discouraged. Too many variables, and it always seems to spark a flurry of silly comments.

"How much will it cost?" Asking for price estimates here.

Sorry didn't know. Just looking for a rough idea? Not looking for an estimate!

Best thin to do, is get at least 3 estimates from local contractors. What we charge may not be anywhere close to what they charge. We could be thousands less, or thousands higher.

Yer splittin' hairs DM "Discourage" does not mean "It's ok". Prices are therefore de facto verboten.

This is a public forum and they're free to ask if they wish.
There is NO RULE AGAINST IT.
That's why we encourage our regulars to go to General Discussion and copy/paste the link to the thread about asking for prices, as I did.

And just what the heck is Canadian Tire? Near as I can tell it is sort of a great white north combination of Tire Rack and Pep boys.
