Then you used a PVC product twice.
Did the people develop cancer or die because of it.

As a matter of fact we had a memorial for one yesterday and that is no lie.

But the composition must differ cause I have seen flex duct used on dryers and the lint cleaned right out. (i was replacing the flex with metal).

I have seen sch 40 PVC all jammed up because the lint stuck to the inside diameter of the pipe.

You a mod at the other channel, check the archives. It's rich with knowledge.
The info I got from there helped me save three families from a house fire.
When I am in a basement on a call I can't help but check out the dryer vent, now.

It provided a lot of work in slow times.

Last year I had to redo a 35 ft run that snaked around six inch take and made a few turns.
Had to figure out the friction loss to make sure it could even be done.

I used ten smoke pipe elbows and a couple lengths of flexible aluminum pipe.

Thank God it worked.

Cause it didn't make national news that someone died from their flex duct poisoning them.

And it would have been the first thing you said about PVC earlier in this thread.

To be serious this gent was my best customer. It was cancer and I did run a new flex duct to an addition that had a failed wall furnace. I feel somehow complicit.

Flex duct has been in use for 40 years or more.

If it caused cancer. Cali would have banned it by now. Or it would have the Cali has determined it causes cancer warning.

I am not debating flex.

I am debating PVC pipe. There's a whole lot more mass with the pipe and therefore the out-gassing is is much higher and increases with heat passing thru it.

PVC duct has been used 30 years or more.

You even have a couple of the PVC duct manufacturers in your state.
